Sacoa -who started its operation as a FEC in Argentina over 50 years ago, and today owns and operates over 30 venues in that country-, has been leading the Debit Card Systems market since 1993, when it developed the Playcard System for its own use. Launched on the international market two years later, the system continued being developed and enhanced over the years to provide customers worldwide with the most complete set of tools to optimize their operations, until in 2006 the wireless version was released with huge success. This innovation was quickly embraced by the industry because of its inexpensive and fast installation, since it needs no wires run to or from the games or turnstiles (the information is transferred between the server and the controllers within the games through the Sacoa Access Points distributed throughout the store).
The Sacoa Playcard System, now in operation in over 500 locations in 44 countries around the globe, optimizes the operation of Arcades, Bowling Centers, Family Entertainment Centers and Amusement Parks by using rechargeable debit cards, that can be bought and reloaded at human-operated POS Stations or at automated kiosks, using cash, credit cards or RFID as a method of payment. Customers may then swipe their cards to play each game or activate each ride's turnstile (the system is applicable to all types of attractions, such as Simulators, Kiddie rides, Redemption games, Rides and PCs) or can use them at POS Stations to pay for F&B or retail merchandise.
Besides holding credits and entitlements loaded, Playcards may also hold the tickets issued by redemption games, which can be redeemed at the redemption counter for prizes. With the Sacoa Playcard System stores can be configured to work entirely with traditional paper tickets (where tickets won at Redemption games are fed into self service Ticket Eaters or weighted/counted at Scales or Ticket Eaters operated by employees at the Redemption Counter, and then loaded to the cards), entirely on e-tickets (in which case they are credited to the player's card directly by the games), or as a dual-mode system, allowing games to issue “E-Tickets” or paper tickets according to an individual player's choice.
Sacoa also offers a complete Redemption Module comprised of two interfaces:
- The Front-End 'MultiSession' Interface which allows up to eight attendants to work at the same time on one single computer at the counter, helping up to 8 customers each. This counter interface allows performing all redemption operations: ticket counting (integration with Deltronics, Smart and Benchmark ticket eaters), accumulation on the customer's card and redemption thereof. It operates through bar coded commands that are read by scanners, which offers speedy customer service, and avoids human mistakes and theft.
- The Back-End Redemption Inventory Management interface, an administration application enabling full redemption management, including labeling, inventory, reporting, auditing and complying Digital Packing List importation (such as the ones generated by BMI), for both multiple warehouses and multiple stores.
